Many people ask John why he would bother with a car in such bad shape that it would obviously need a great deal of time, effort and money - let alone patience. He found out the VIN number of the car and that it was an "R" code car and then did some research. The "R" in the VIN number meant that the car came with a 351 Cleveland High Output engine with a 4 barrel carburetor.
John spent a great deal of time and effort to make sure this car was returned to its showroom state using only original Ford parts. Sometimes they were new, sometimes used and sometimes NOS (new old stock). There are only a few items which Ford did not make available after these cars were made; such as the carpeting, seat covers, etc. which he purchased new from companies who make these aftermarket pieces.
THERE WERE 4 OPTIONS ON THIS CAR WHEN IT WAS BUILT IN MARCH, 1972

It would be interesting to know how many of these 45 cars actually still exist
